Community Breastfeeding Collaborative Events

Web posted on September 28, 2017

September 27, 2017: The Community Breastfeeding Collaborative of Guelph is supporting a number of upcoming events to spread awareness that breastfeeding is a normal and important part of child and maternal health.

On Saturday, September 30, the sixth annual Quintessence Breastfeeding Challenge will take place at the Quebec Street Shoppes from 10:30 to noon. The goal of the international challenge is to be the site where the largest number of children are latched on at the same time.

At this year's challenge, life-size cut-outs of local women nursing their children will be on display. Everyone in attendance is invited to take a selfie with a cut-out and post it on Twitter @LetsTalkParents or Facebook @LetsTalkParenting with this hashtag: #BreastfeedAnywhereWDG.

In celebration of World Breastfeeding Week (October 1-7), the breastfeeding cut-outs will be on display at various locations throughout Guelph. The public will have the opportunity to take a selfie with a cut-out until October 16 at the Dawson Medical Centre, the Guelph Y, Smitten Apparel, the Guelph General Hospital, the Guelph Community Health Centre, and the Ontario Early Years Centre (Stone Road Mall).
