BREAK AND ENTER OCCURRED OVERNIGHT

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County detachment investigated a break and enter at an address on Anderson St. South Town of Fergus.

On March 29, 2017 at approximately 07:30 a.m. police received a call from the owner of the address to report of a break and enter that occurred sometime overnight.

Suspect(s) entered the building through a window and took a HP Laptop Computer, cash, and garden tools. The suspect(s) also stole 4 firearms and ammunition.

DEATH INVESTIGATION

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On March 27, 2017 at approximately 8:10 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Officers responded to Kitchener Street, Fergus in the Township of Centre Wellington in regards to an unconscious female on the roadway. Two citizens discovered the female while out walking. The female was transported by Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The female has been identified as 33-year-old Ashley WILSON of Fergus, On.

Wellington County OPP is continuing to investigate but her death is not considered to be suspicious. An autopsy will be completed today.

ALERT PATRON HELPS STOP SENIOR FROM BEING DEFRAUDED

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are crediting an alert patron at a coffee shop with intervening after recognizing a senior may be falling victim to the Microsoft Computer scam.

OPP were contacted by the patron after she overheard a male patron speaking on his phone and offering a sum of money to have his computer fixed. The male had his laptop with him and seemed to be having trouble with it. The patron tried to speak with the male regarding her concerns then called the OPP.

OPP responded to the establishment but were advised the male had just left. OPP were able to locate the male at his home in Centre Wellington Twp. and discovered that he was currently in the process of paying money to have his computer "fixed" by someone claiming to be from Microsoft. It was quickly established that the person on the phone was not from Microsoft and OPP assisted in ending the communication.

BREAK AND ENTER TO BARN IN ERIN

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) -On March 25, 2017 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break and enter to a barn on County Road 42, Town of Erin. The break and enter occurred sometime in the past six weeks.

The owner of the property reports approximately $8000 worth of antique barn board wood and antique wooden cow yokes missing from the barn.

OPP CONDUCTING NEIGHBOURHOOD CANVASS AFTER DAYTIME BREAK AND ENTERS

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is advising residents of the Town of Erin that the OPP will be canvassing door-to-door in regards to daytime Break and Enters. This will occur on Saturday April 1, 2017 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. in areas of Erin.

OPP INVESTIGATE SERIOUS COLLISION ON WELLINGTON ROAD 50

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) - On March 23 at approximately 4:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the Halton Hills Fire Department and Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a single motor vehicle rollover on Wellington Road 50 between Trafalgar Road and the Sixth Line of the Town of Erin.

Investigation revealed that the 2004 Ford was travelling westbound on Wellington Road 50 when the driver lost control of his vehicle and entered the north ditch and rolled over several times.

The male driver was transported to a Georgetown Hospital by land ambulance and later transported to a Toronto Hospital by air ambulance with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

THEFT OF A CAMPER TRAILER

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On March 27, 2017 the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a theft of a camper trailer from Highland Pines Campground located on County Road 19, Township of Centre Wellington. The theft occurred March 26, 2017 at approximately 9:00 p.m.

The trailer is described as a 2015 Sunset Trailer, 30 ft., with a marker of M94 64N. The trailer is tan in colour.
