BREAK AND ENTER TO ELORA STORE

(CENTRE WELINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break and enter that occurred to the Grandview Gas Bar and Variety on East Mill Street, Elora.

Investigation revealed that unknown suspects forced their entry through the business front door sometime between February 1 at 9:30 p.m. and February 2 at 8:00 a.m.. Cash was stolen.

DRINKING AND DRIVING

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) On January 28, 2017 at approximately 11:13 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a check on wellbeing request for a driver that was slumped over the wheel of his motor vehicle on Side Road 6 North near First Line in Centre Wellington Township.

Police located the 2001 Toyota on the side of the road with the engine running and a male sleeping in the driver's seat. Officers woke up the male and immediately detected the odour of alcohol on his breath and observed physical signs of impairment.

Police also seized a container of open alcohol that was located near the driver. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

36-year-old Kevin HOLWERDA of Fergus has been charged with Care of Control Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on February 14, 2017 to answer to the charge. His driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

THEFT AT THE IMAGE CARWASH

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) On January 30, 2017 at approximately 9:12 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report from the owner of the Image Car Wash located on Erin Park Drive in the Town of Erin.

Investigation revealed that at approximately 2:13 a.m. a U-Haul van entered onto the carwash property. The male passenger exited the van and managed to bypass one of the two auto-tellers at the carwash and access to the cash was gained. It is unknown at this time the exact amount of cash that was taken.

The U-Haul was last seen travelling northbound on Erin Park Drive.

The male suspect was wearing dark coloured clothing with possibly a red hoody under his jacket.

THEFT FROM CANADIAN TIRE IN FERGUS

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) On February 1, 2017 at approximately 1:00 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call to attend the Canadian Tire in Fergus for an alarm.

It was discovered that two cargo trailers used for storage were entered and suspect(s) took; 2 Garrison 50 pint dehumidifiers, Champion 6500 watt generator-yellow, Champion 1500 watt generator-yellow, and Champion 3000 watt generator-yellow
