Impaired Driver Arrested

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) - On March 5, 2020, at approximately 12:25 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic hazard on Fife Road at Wellington Road 32 in Puslinch Township. It was reported that a sedan was stopped in the live lane with the engine running and the driver slumped over the wheel.

Officers located the vehicle and had to force entry inside because the driver was unresponsive. Police determined that that driver's ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and they were placed under arrest once medically cleared by Emergency Medical Services. The driver was transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Evelina SKALSKYTE, 23-years-old of Puslinch Township has been charged with Impaired Operation and Impaired Operation - 80 Plus (mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood). A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph on April 3, 2020.

Electronics and alcohol stolen

(WEST PERTH, ON) - On March 8, 2020, OPP officers in West Perth responded to the report of a break-and-enter on Rowland Street in Mitchell. The incident occurred sometime overnight.

The suspects entered the residence through the attached garage and stole a number of items including three televisions and associated electronics, liquor, a passport, clothing, currency and some miscellaneous items.

Break, enter, theft of utility vehicle & fuel tank

(PERTH EAST, ON) - Overnight on March 9, 2020, suspects broke in to a drive shed located on a farm property on Line 70 north of Milverton.

The suspects forced open the locked drive shed and stole a 2004 orange Kubota RTV900 side-by-side utility vehicle. A photo of a similar vehicle has been included with this media release.

The suspects also used a forklift from inside the drive shed to steal a white 250-gallon fuel tank. The fuel tank was approximately half-full of diesel fuel. There was also a large fuel tank containing gasoline that was loaded on the forklift but was not stolen.

The suspects used a farm tractor in the drive shed to ram the overhead garage door to another building located on the property, causing significant damage. It does not appear suspects entered this building.

Perth County OPP continue to investigate the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact Police at 1-888-310-1122.
