Perth OPP, Salvation Army Join Forces For Holiday Meal

Web posted on November 29, 2019

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) - For many of us, the holiday season serves as a time to reflect upon our blessings and to reach out to those in need.

The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Auxiliary Unit members have joined forces with the Salvation Army to host food drives at three locations across the county.

Food drives will take place on Saturday December 7, 2019 from 10:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the following locations:

Zehr's - 600 Mitchell Road, Listowel

Walkom's Valu-Mart -120 Ontario Road, Mitchell

Participating is easy. Simply purchase a pre-bagged donation or select your own item(s). All donations will be gratefully accepted. The spirit of giving is contagious; challenge your friends and neighbours to get involved.

The Salvation Army supports many local families with Christmas food and toy hampers each year and they need our help. No one deserves to have to choose between purchasing a gift for their child and being able to serve them a holiday meal. Your gesture of kindness can make a world of difference to families this season, and is not forgotten by those who receive it.

The Perth County OPP Auxiliary Unit thanks each of the participating grocery stores for their support and wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday.

"The holiday season is a special time spent with family and friends. By supporting the food drive, you can help make a positive difference in someone's life." Inspector Rob Scott, Detachment Commander, Perth County OPP.
